Cockroaches will often start to feed on Goliath Gel within minutes of an application and will then die within a few hours.
Cascade effect
Due to its high activity, fipronil can be consumed by foraging individuals and transmitted widely throughout colonies by the cascade effect. Lab and field trials show that fipronil is transferred from one cockroach to the next as cockroaches in harbourages will readily eat dead individuals (necrophagism) or the feces (coprophagy) of individuals that have ingested the gel. Thus, Goliath can be recommended as a sole solution for cockroaches’ treatment, ensuring that populations are completely eradicated.
Low dose rate
Due to the high efficacy of Goliath gel as little as 1 bait point is required per m² so an effective treatment can be carried out very quickly. One tube of Goliath gel is sufficient to make over 1000 bait placements and treat over 50 apartments so when compared to other commonly available gel baits treating with Goliath gel is highly cost-efficient.

The superior potency of fipronil means that treating cockroach infestations with Goliath Gel requires at least 60 % less bait than any alternative treatment. This makes a single tube go almost 3 times as far as other gel baits, offering far greater cost-effectiveness in use than simple weight-based comparisons suggest.

Goliath Gel takes advantage of the fact that poisoned cockroaches return to their harbourages before dying where other individuals consume both their feces and remains. Laboratory and field studies show fipronil is readily transferred from one cockroach to another in this way. Its high potency ensures continued effectiveness even after several such transfers.
This dramatically increases the number of individuals killed by a single bait point in the so-called cascade effect, increasing population density. It also ensures the fipronil reaches the young nymphs and egg-bearing females that seldom venture far from harbourages, giving more complete control of infestations.

How to Apply Goliath 0.05% Gel
Goliath 0.05% Gel is applied by use of guns with great precision. With light pressure on the trigger, through the needle, 1 drop of Goliath 0.05% Gel with a diameter of 3 to 4 mm and a weight of 0.03 g should be put on the target site.

Extra Tips for Using Goliath
- Store out of extreme temperatures. Use within 2 years of purchase.
- Do not use sprays, heavy detergents, or cleaners near baits as this can make baits less attractive.

- Apply bait away from air currents to prevent drying. Avoid placement on paper, cardboard, or other porous surfaces such as unsealed concrete.
- Good programs rotate baits to avoid resistance. Change baits every few months or alternate with different bait (and different active ingredients) for best results.
- Do not apply bait to areas where the temperature exceeds 130 degrees F as bait may run.
- Apply bait using an included FREE plunger or with a bait gun if you own one.
