Cattle Pregnancy Rapid Test Cassette (Plasma/Serum/Milk) is a lateral flow immunochromatographic assay for the qualitative detection of progesterone (P4) in cattle’s plasma or serum, or milk.
A Cattle/ Cow/ Livestock Pregnancy Kit is a quick, on-the-farm test used to determine if a cow is pregnant—similar in concept to a human pregnancy test. It uses a lateral flow strip to detect pregnancy-related hormones.
Cattle/ Cow/ Livestock Pregnancy Kit SUMMARY
Progesterone (P4) is a kind of steroid hormone. The concentration change of P4 is one specific characteristic indicating the activities of cattle ovary. It plays an important role in the process of maternal reproduction and maintaining pregnancy. Therefore, it can be monitoring cattle reproductive activity by detecting the concentration of P4. P4 concentration has different characteristic changes as the cattle’s stage of reproductive physiology, through to detect the progesterone levels can make an accurate diagnosis of cattle in early pregnancy.
Cattle/ Cow/ Livestock Pregnancy Kit DIRECTIONS FOR USE
Allow the test cassette, specimen and/or controls to equilibrate to room temperature (15-30 °C) prior to testing.
1. Remove the test cassette from foil pouch and place it on a clean and level surface
2. Hold the dropper vertically and transfer 4 drops of sample (approximately 100 μl) into the specimen well(S), then start the timer. See illustration below.
3. Wait for the colored line(s) to appear. Read results in 5 minutes. Do not interpret results after 10 minutes.

Cattle/ Cow/ Livestock Pregnancy Kit INTERPRETATION OF RESULTS
Positive: If both T line and C line are visible, regardless of T line being strong or faint, the test result is positive, which means the cattle is pregnant or in middle period of estrous cycle.
Negative: If only C line is visible, the test result is Negative, which means the cattle is not pregnant.
Invalid: When control line does not appear on the membrane, the test is invalid since improper test procedure or deterioration of reagents probably occurred. It is recommended that the test would be repeated.
Cattle/ Cow/ Livestock Pregnancy Kit: How It Works
- Sample Collection: Collect a milk or most commonly a urine sample from the cow.
- Test Application: Place a few drops on the strip using the dropper provided.
- Reaction: If the hormone (pregnancy-associated glycoproteins) is present, it binds to antibodies on the strip.
Cattle/ Cow/ Livestock Pregnancy Kit Result
- Two lines = Pregnant
- One line = Not pregnant
- No lines or unclear result = Invalid test
Cattle/ Cow/ Livestock Pregnancy Kit Advantages
- Easy to use: No professional / vet needed.
- Quick results: Often within 10–20 minutes.
- Cuts costs: Useful for small or remote farms.
- Testing too early (Before 28 days) could result in a false negative—the cow may be pregnant, but the test won’t detect it yet. It is most accurate when it is performed at least 28 to 30 days after the cow has been bred (mated or artificially inseminated)
- NB: Can’t detect twins or exact fetal age.
- Product Dimensions : 5.11 x 2.44 x 1.18 inches
