Gugusate is a non-selective herbicide for the control of annual and perennial grasses and broadleaved weeds in maize. Care should be taken so as to avoid contact with the crop.
It is a systemic herbicide, absorbed by foliage and green stems with rapid translocation throughout the plant above and below the soil. It acts by inhibiting the biosynthesis of the essential aromatic amino acids needed for protein synthesis. It is inactivated on contact with soil.
