Celphos is a globally registered fumigant used for the control of a wide range of field rodents and insect pests that are found in stored commodities. Celphos is highly effective, economical, and easy to use.

 

 

CELPHOS is a tablet that weighs 3g. It controls a wide range of pests of stored products. When exposed to moisture in the air, the tablet slowly releases Phosphine gas which when inhaled by the insect pests results in instant death. Application rates, as well as the exposure time required for pest control, will depend on the pests to be controlled, temperature and humidity.

Celphos Mode of Action

  • Celphos decomposes to release Phosphine gas upon contact with moisture in the air.
  • Phosphine quickly spreads and penetrates into the commodity being fumigated.
  • Reaches insects by diffusing through air space between stored grains and stacks of packaged material.
  • Requires warm temperature (>15° C) and air-tight enclosures for effective fumigation and insect control.
  • Phosphine acts on the respiratory chain of insects.

  • Celphos kills all stages of Insects.
  • Phosphine gas from Celphos is practically insoluble in water, fats, and oils and therefore has no appreciable reaction on the fumigated commodities.
  • Phosphine gas dissipates completely after fumigation from the treated area upon aeration.

Restraints

  • Do not use when commodity temperature is below 15oC and/or the relative humidity within the structure is high or with row cereal grain, the moisture content should be less than 9%.
  • Don’t fumigate in inhabited buildings.
  • Don’t use on any commodity, empty containers, or vessels that are in transit.
  • Don’t heap tablets.
  • Don’t apply as a surface-only treatment in a structure whose height exceeds twice its width.

 

 

Recommended Rates

  • All grains, bulk stock feeds, dried fruits: Use 3 tablets per 2 cubic meters. Expose for 10 days when temperatures are 15oC to 25oC; 7 days when the temperature is above 25oC.
  • Tobacco bales and other forms: Use 3 tables per 2 cubic meters and expose for 7 days.
  • Empty warehouse, greenhouse: Use 3 tablets per 2 cubic meters and expose for 7-10 days.
  • All treated commodities, silos, or warehouses should be made gas-tight with gas-proof sheeting.
