A glucometer is a small, portable device that lets you check your blood sugars (glucose levels) at home. No matter what type of diabetes you have, a glucometer can give you valuable information. Few Steps for Easy Use of Glucometer
  1. Wash your hands with soap and dry them thoroughly.
  2. Massage your hand from the wrist up to the fingertip to encourage blood flow.
  3. Insert the test strip into the on call glucometer machine.
  4. Us the lancing device/needle to prick your fingertip to obtain a blood sample and place the drop of blood obtained on the strip already connected in step 3.
  5. After 10 seconds check the reading and interpret as per your diabetes healthcare provider then dispose of the used strip and lancet.
  6. Read again as you refer to the manual provided inside the box.
  7. Reading should be taken a few minutes before food and two hours after eating.
