Hemco Broiler Finisher Feeding Recommendations

The ordinary broiler finisher has been carefully formulated with high levels of energy, proteins, vitamins and minerals. It leads to high quality meat in the finisher stage. It is fed to broiler birds from the 22nd day up to the 6th week. The birds eventually attain an average live weight of 2kgs at the time of slaughter. Normally each bird consumes 2.5kg – 3kgs of feed to reach slaughter weight in 6 weeks.

If the birds are running free range, shutting them up for the last two weeks will allow them to fatten.  Do not feed them 24 hours before slaughter.

Self feeders protected from the rain and wind, are a good method of feeding the birds.

It is important to have fresh, clean drinking water available at all times. Place water away from the feed to minimise spillage and dampness.
